MQM has not decided to join the Sindh Government
The Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Information Committee has said that MQM has not decided to join government. They have issued a press release to clarify rumors that the party has decided to join PPP government in the Sindh.
The Dawn had reported about the PPP’s invitation to MQM to join the coalition government in Sindh.
President of the Pakistan Peoples Party – Parliamentarians (PPPP) Makhdoom Amin Fahim said on Wednesday that his party had formally invited the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) to from a coalition government in Sindh, DawnNews reported.
We all know the President Zardari has given his approval for the coalition government in Sindh.
I personally feel that MQM should not accept that coalition. I know PPP is not in a position to accept MQM’s demands. Nationalists will raise hue and cry over MQM’s action.
I know PPP has indicated that it would think about new local government bill. Former Local Government Minister of Sindh, Agha Siraj Durrani that PPP can introduce new bill in the assembly. He said:
No law can be termed final. We will have to introduce a new local government system in the province with the consent of all.
He said these words while talking to journalist at the PPP Media cell.
We all know that MQM had left the coalition because of PPP patronization of Lyari Gang War.
The Daily Times said:
it will be politically difficult for the MQM to sit again with the PPP in coalition government of Sindh due to its differences on local government issue. Consequently the PPP leadership considers it necessary to provide face saving to MQM if it wants to get into the coalition. And the PPP is in a good position as it has already secured majority seats in the provincial assembly.
