Rangers and Police are bias towards MQM and its workers: MQM leaders

Terming the ongoing Karachi operation as biased and non-transparent, MQM leaders urged Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to take drastic steps to root out terrorism from the country’s commercial and economic hub.

Appearing in an exclusive episode of “Nadeem Malik Live” held at MQM’s central office Nine Zero, senior MQM leader Babar Ghauri said that his party had demanded a military operation in Karachi, believing that it would be an unbiased.

I agree with MQM leaders. However, the growing influence of Taliban is one of the problems. Criminals gangs are one of the biggest problems of Karachi, who have made Karachi’s residents life miserable.

Rangers and Police are targeting innocent political workers and raiding MQM’s office. This persecution must be stopped. It is generating hatred against the government and the law enforcement agencies.

We should not involve army in Karachi. Honest police oficers should identified and give the charge of the operation. They should be provide all resources needed to conduct their investigation and operation against criminals.

Sindh High Court declares amendments in SLG – 2013 null and void

Amendments in SLGA-2013 declared unconstitutional, illegal –

Sindh High Court (SHC) Monday declared the amendments in the Sindh Local Government Act-2013 (SLGA-2013) unconstitutional and illegal, Geo News reported.   SHC Division bench comprised of Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and Justice Farooq Ali Shah announced this short order, which was earlier reserved on completion of the hearings.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Jamaat-e-Islami had filed petitions challenging the LB delimitations and amendments in SLGA-2013 and prayed for declaring them void as it contradicts Article 104-A of the constitution.

I think courts verdict will send a message to PPP Government in Sindh to stop their unconstitutional moves to crush its opponents. Someone had given wrong advice to PPP that it can go against the Constitution of Pakistan. reported:

Subsequently, the court condemned the existing delimitation of the constituencies and ordered that the process be started from scratch.

The court ruled on the matter after concluding its hearing of the final arguments on Tuesday over 10 applications, including one filed by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).

MQM has strongly reacted against the raids on its offices.

Express Tribune has reported:

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has claimed that the Rangers are raiding its offices and harassing its workers in a bid to disrupt the process of filing nominations papers for the local body’s election.

Three raids have been conducted since Thursday, said a MQM leader and parliamentarian who did not want to be named.

“We will not let the operation be diverted. The Rangers should not be politically motivated and should stay free of any politicisation, “ reacted Khawaja Izhar-ul-Haq.

The party’s deputy convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that the raids and the arrests were hampering the work being done related to the local body’s election. He said that before the general elections, it was the terrorists who were targeting their offices by carrying out bomb blasts, and now it was the law enforcers who were making things difficult for them.

Rangers commented, ““Wherever criminals are, the Rangers will arrest them.”

Yes, Rangers have a right to go after criminals. However, their actions since the inception of the operations shows they are victimizing. Raids should be conducted only if you have incriminating evidence against the person. Harassment and torture on Urdu Speaking Youths will generate anger against them and the government.
