Karachi has been brought to a standstill

Posted in Uncategorized on 24.04.13

The Express Tribune has reported:

KARACHI: A strike – called by Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) against a bomb attack on party’s camp office – brought Karachi to a standstill on Wednesday as businesses remained closed, reported Express News.

On April 23, a crude bomb targeting MQM roadside office killed at least three people and injured 30 others. The attack, which took place in the Buffer Zone area, prompted the closure of all roadside camp offices of the party.

Yes, this strike has once against showed that MQM commands great influence in the metropolis. Karachi residents are very sad over yesterday’s bomb blast, which a number of people lost their lives and scores of young men were critically injured.

The big question is: Has it frightened Taliban and its backers?

I think it has hurt us only. MQM will have to find new ways to compel the government to initiate action against the Taliban, who are engaged in criminal activities.

PPP and ANP are responsible for the growing influence of Taliban in Karachi

Posted in Uncategorized on 24.04.13

My heart sank when I heard about the bomb blast near People’s Chowrangi. I feared the loss of lives as it is a heavily populated area. I become very angry over the government and our police who have done nothing to protect us from Taliban because of their ethnic bias.

Images of dead young men and injured people began to emerge on social media. The images were so distributing that I had to request not to upload them because kids are also linked to our profiles.

Everyone knows are Taliban. The question is: How did they land in Karachi? They have landed in Karachi because of a botched operation against them in tribal areas. The army and security agencies did not pay attention to the people who fled from the tribal areas towards cities. Most of these people have landed in Karachi and mingled settled down in different parts of Karachi.

MQM, Karachi’ popular secular party sensed the danger they would pose to the city started to raise voice about their criminal activities in the city. However, PPP’s Interior Minister Zilqar Mirza vhementaly opposed MQM on this issue. This stupid man though that he could use Taliban to control MQM.

In April 2008, Karachi’s residents saw posters about the growing Talibnization of the city. These posters were from ‘the Citizens of Karachi’. Instead of supported MQM on this issue, ANP started blaming MQM that wanted to wipe out Pakhtoons from the city.  ANP realized the evil designs of TTP when they killed one of their prominent member UC nazim, Amir Sardar, and two party worker on 13th August 2012.

Now, they have turned to MQM for help in order to fight them.

After subduing ANP, TTP has turned towards MQM. On November 3, they issued a warning that they would liberate Karachi” from the Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM)

JI is enjoying the situation because TTP is not targeting them.  JI supporters are expressing happiness over the tension and killings in the city. They think the situation will enable them to grab seats in upcoming elections.  They are sadly mistaken. Taliban actions has once against increased support for the MQM and they have forgiven their mistakes and follies once again.

Debating MQM’s manifesto:

Posted in Uncategorized on 13.04.13

mqm-manifestoExpress Tribune has told us how MQM’s prominent leaders tried to explain their manifesto to a panel consisting of Pervez Hoodbhoy, Mukhtar Ahmed and Shafqat Kakakhel. The paper reported :

Ahmed said MQM’s manifesto is comprehensive regarding the goals the party wants to achieve but is considerably weak in defining how exactly these targets will be met.

In response, Rizvi, who relied on poetry to drive home some of his rebuttals, said details might be missing from the manifesto because MQM had to boil down a 1200-page policy document to the 33-page manifesto.

I have been a MQM voter for a long time. I have a same question for MQM lawmakers. How would they achieve their goals?

They could not satisfy the panelists. In my opinion, MQM needs other parties to fulfill what the party has laid down in its manifesto, we see that the party is in war with the two major national parties.  Numbers play a very important role in politics. If you don’t’ have good number of seats in the parliament, you will to implement your policies.

Carrying changes in many constituencies in Karachi was a conspiracy to divide the vote of MQM: Altaf Hussain

Posted in Uncategorized on 23.03.13

Altaf Hussain terms Election Commission’s decision to change constituencies in Karachi a conspiracy  to divide MQM voters.

I agree with him. Anyone can see that it has an attempt to snatch seats form MQM. Though they are trying to show they are doing this implement Supreme Court’s order.

He angrily said this was a robbery on the mandate of MQM.

“The political vultures want to encroach the resources of Karachi.” Sabzwari said.

This kind of actions will only divide the gulf between the communities. Karachi’s people are already facing ordeal because of lawlessness in the city. This news will increase their resentment.

PML-N senator wants to remove Ishrat-ul-Ibad from the post

Posted in Uncategorized on 02.11.12

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Zafar Ali Shah filed on Thursday a petition in the Supreme Court, seeking removal of Ishrat-ul-Ibad from the post of Sindh governor.

The petitioner also queried how an individual (Ishrat ul Abad) could remain governor for more than 12 years when “as per the constitution, the president, prime minister and the National Assembly could not hold office for more than a five-year term.

PML-N senator files petition against MQM leaders | Business Recorder

I fail to understand bias displayed by leaders and ordinary people of Punjab against the leaders of the  most educated community of Pakistan.  What will PMLN leaders get by this stupid actions? It will only increase hatred by two political parties, which is not good for Pakistan. Like PMLN’s leaders MQM leaders came into the parliament by popular votes.
